The result released by Debt Management Office (DMO) has revealed that Adamawa state ranked second with a high debt profile in the North East.
The Nigeria foreign debt by State has indicated that Adamawa is indebted with $116.58m as of 30th June 2021.
The DMO report has ranked Adamawa seventh topping up the list in the entire country, Bauchi state being the first in the North East with $133.69 and fifth position among the state with high debt in the country, DMO result has shown.
Other states with high debt ranking are Lagos, Kaduna, Edo, and Cross Rivers with $1.58bn, $559.50m, $281.47,$184.60 respectively.
Taraba State ranked 36 second low having the least debt profile according to the DMO chart of state owing foreign country and organizations with $20.59m. Borno is the state with the least debt, owning $16.70m
