Lawmakers in Adamawa state house of assembly have today removed the Chief Whip of the house Hon Joseph Ayuba Kwada (PDP, Michika LG) and replaced him with Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (PDP, Madagali LG).
The action of the lawmakers was sequel to a notice of removal signed by 12 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which doubles as the ruling party in the state.
The PDP caucus told the speaker Rt. Hon Aminu Iya Abbas during the plenary sitting Tuesday that they have resolved to effect the removal of Kwada and thereafter passed a vote of no confidence on the embattled Chief Whip.
The lawmakers who failed to state the rationale for taking the drastic action simply said they changed Kawada for “obvious reasons”.
The lawmakers immediately appoint and ratify the appointment of Jilantikiri to replaced the removed Kwada.
In his reaction to the development, the former Chief Whip expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Leadership of the assembly for the opportunity given to him to serve in that capacity.
Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada further congratulated the new Chief Whip, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri over his appointment as the new Chief Whip of the House and prayed God to give him wisdom as well as protect him while piloting the affairs of his new office.
Checks by TGNEWS revealed that the relationship between the embattled Lawmaker went sour with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the state over political issues in his Constituency.
You could recall that Joseph defected to PDP from APC few months to conducting the 2019 general elections, supported the election bid of Fintiri it appears not finding things easy with the leadership of the Governor.
A supporter of the Lawmaker who pleaded for his name not to be mentioned Said Ayuba who is also call Depolice suppose to be one of the Governor’s caucus man but sidelined him for obvious reasons.
“He has been loyal to the Governor,but political hungry men who merchandise lies and rumours as a means of livelihood has damaged their relationship.
“It’s unfortunate Fintiri is still allowing this kind of brainless political thugs misleading him.
“All we know he will soon going to be vindicated and posterity will certainly be kind to him and his constituency will remember him for good” He said
