16th December in Adamawa state it’s going to be date heavenly pregnant and is set to be delivering a mind blowing result to many people out there who are in support of Nyako return to complete his left over eight months office. The state’s lawmakers in 2014 were illegally said to have impeached him and therefore he can be addressed as a former governor. Sure the could still be in favor a working Governor, senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, the executive Governor of Adamawa state state to go on as a substantive Governor of the State.
I’m writing this piece as a result of many people in the state to have shifted their opinions and concluded to the extend of preemptying the court, speaking with all zest of assurance of their believe of Nyako coming back as a governor to complete his remaining eights months that it was left as a result of removing him because of impeachment offences by the lawmakers Good as their wishes and struggles are, I want to categorically say that a precedence has already been set for this kind of judgement in this country. Let me refer you back to the following past cases :
1.The case of Ladoke vs Alaowo
2.Dariye vs plateau State House of Assembly.
The duo cases were all in court seeking to complete their tenure in office which was abruptly stopped by the forces of impeachment.
I’m not here to preempt the court but to give a cross reference out come of past verdicts by some competent court of law were cases of such were all thrown out to might have “overtaken by events”.
The question I want to ask my many readers in this platform is that what of if the verdict did not turn up in favor of Nyako or Bindow? Many have confronted me with their opinions that Nyako is certainly coming back because the case is purely political in nature . We all know how court operate and how judgements are passed, with my little knowledge of law, no Court, no judge will pass his or her judgement without consulting similar cases on how their judgments were passed.
I’m too much in surprise of many of my respected friends in social media of turning the whole issues into a day of reckoning or a day that the judiciary system in Nigeria will gang up against either Bindow or Nyako. I know of this common Hausa adage “Sharia sabanin ra’ayi “meaning you can’t preempt a court or a particular case, a case you think will be in your favor,you will be shock it will pieces your heart when the judgement is pass. I have seen it so many times over so many cases where expectations of many people were dashed up.
To me whatever way it turns up it is kudos to democracy,it has shown to be a grow of standard ethics of our judicial process. My faith thought me an idea that all things is working for my/our own good to those that love God.
