Two persons have lost their lives in a multiple auto crash that occurred on Friday around Danco Petrol Station on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway corridor of Ogun State.
Eight persons also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident.
Involved in the crash are: a truck with the registration number: JBD17ZY, a bus with the registration number: SH1228, a Toyota Hilux with the registration number: NPF364ID and a Howo truck with no registration number.
Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun State, Florence Okpe confirmed this to newsmen in a statement on Friday.
Okpe said that that cause of the auto crash were dangerous driving, excessive speed which led to lose of control and crashed on a parked container while other vehicles crashed on it too.
She said that 10 persons( five males and five females) were involved in the accident, eight persons( four males and four females) sustained injuries, while the remaining two persons died.
The chief route commander said that the injured victims had been taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu for medical attention and the corpses deposited at the same hospital morgue.
The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command CC Anthon Uga described the crash as an avoidable one if caution was put in place and drivers drove their vehicles according to the stipulated speed limit and traffic rules.
Uga further advised motorists to shun speed and drive defensively ( drive yourself and others).
He noted that on poor lightening system on some vehicles and that motorists should ensure to do the needful due to weather condition ( poor visibility).
The commander, therefore sympathized with the family of the victims and pray to God to strengthen them and quick recovery.
