Governor umar Jibrilla of Adamawa state has expressed his administration’s readiness in supporting any project that can engages youth for a productive ventures.
Governor Jibrilla gave the indication during the opening ceremony of Eastern Bwatiye football league at Njoboliyo village of yola-south local government area of the state.
The football tournament was organized by Tikkise community Association and sponsored by Rodney Nathan, the state Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers.
The Governor who commended the organizers for mobilizing youths from various villages for a common front said the tournament has done him proud as the government is propagating peace in this critical time of electioneering period.
Bindow,who was visibly happy said, Comrade Rodney is not only a Union leader to him,but a dependable political ally whom he has been consulted frequently for possible solutions to some issues.
The Governor used the opportunity to draw the attention of the teaming participating football teams to exhibit sportsmanship as in any contest, there must be winner.
He equally assured the people of Njoboliyo village of visible projects like rural feeder road for economic empowerment.
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Barnabas patta, said the tournament has brought blessings to the people of the community considering Governor Jibrilla’s presence adding that the tournament was another platform for social cohesion among the Bwatiye in general.
Rodney Nathan while briefing Governor Bindow on the purpose of the football competition said, new hidden talents could be discovered while it would propagate peace among youths and the communities.
The tournament which was kicked-started by Governor Jibrilla will be rounded up on 2nd December 2018.
