From Sani Sule- Jalingo
Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag bearer for the 2019 election, has opened the state office of the 20 million Igbos support for Atiku/Obi, with a promise to provide adequate security for them during the general elections.
He made this promise on Thursday in Jalingo, the state capital where the event took place.
The Govrnor expressed gladness over the Igbo’s decision to remain in the state and cast their votes during the fourthcoming general elections.
Earlier, state coordinator of the 20 Million Igbos for Atiku/Obi, Chief Obi Chris, declared that Igbo in the state would stay and vote in the 2019 elections.
“On several occasions, the Igbo would abandon our place of trade and millions of naira business investments and run away for fear of insecurity during elections, thereby invalidating our votes, as we don’t cast votes in Taraba and cannot cast votes in our states of origin. Today, Igbo of Taraba have stood firm to educate and sensitise our brothers to stay and exercise their Civic rights during the elections.”He said.
Chris explained that, the project was targeting 20 million Igbos in the 19 northern states and FCT for Atiku/Obi and 700,000 Igbos for Darius Ishaku, while he appreciated the governor for appointing two Igbo sons in his administration.
