On resumption into office,Sen Muhammadu Jibrilla Umar Bindo in 2015 as the Executive Gov of Adamawa state put on huge effort to have a reasonable electricity power supply. Today Its an undisputable fact that the State has stand out and become a model for steady supply of energy for other states to copy in recent times. Most especially electricity supply which has being very constant and stable.
The feat achieved by Gov Bindo is making the state to be one among the best few states in the country since the inception of the state in history,just like is happening in the construction of road networks across the state in the administration of our amiable governor, Senator Muhammed,the Sardaunan Mubi is indeed turning round the State for better.
In every organizational success or breakthrough, there is always a Man or woman behind the scene, wearing the mask of development. In the case of constant and efficient power supply in Adamawa state, one erudite and loyal Special Assistant to the Governor on Energy Matters, Hon.Ayuba Imam Abdulwahab has being making frantic efforts to see that the State is not Left behind in terms of electricity.
He was appointed about one and half years a go, before his appointment,the power supply was obviously frustrating, forcing so many rich men in the state seeking for “hot line”,and the masses resulted into generators and other alternatives power supplies to satisfy their energy needs.It was at the midst of epileptic power supply that Dr.Umar Bindir(SSG),Muftin Adamawa, discovered this gentleman who was working as a consultant with the Power sectors across the country, he later joined governor Bindow’s campaign train as the coordinator of Yoruba community in Adamawa state.
The target of the state government then was for him to use his knowledge and experiences of decade to assist the state out of the situation.Abdulwahab foundly call by his admirers,is a gentle man to the core,very intelligent and hardworking SA, With an educational background in Computer and Electric Distribution network. Swung in to action.
Intelligent Abdulwahab resort to giving constant professional advise to the government of Bindo on how to utilize”Kiri dam” to produce electricity, and at the same time for agricultural purpose according to one of his proposal submissions before securing his appointment, titled:ROAD MAP TO ACHIEVING ADEQUATE/UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY IN ADAMAWA STATE, MY POINTS OF VIEW AND AGENDA.This proposal can even be utilized at the Federal level considering the power supply situation in the country presently.
However, in less than a year, people of the state began to experience new lease of life. Considering the fact that electricity power supply is the major economy drive of every country,being the fact that every sector depend on it to survive. The Economic stability, improvement in health care system as well as security to mention but a few. All this successes wouldn’t have been possible without his good working relationship with Yola Electricity Distribution company’s(YEDC) management which is another blessing to the state also. All the management from top to the bottom has been supportive ,and the fact that Power allocation to the state had significantly increased in the recent time.
But my view on this article is the level of prudent management of such allocations, responses to lapses in the electricity net work,and professional/appropriate advises to the state government, after all,other states in the country enjoyed same privilege of an increment in electric allocation,but many of them still suffers a great setback in terms of power supply.
Although he is my colleague,but this observation was raised by concern citizens of the state including myself even without his consent. I pray we have more of these type of genius in different areas to make the state greater than Bindo met it.
