The Governor stated this while addressing members of the organised Labour movement during the 2019 May Day celebrations at the Mahmud Ribadu Square Yola recently.

While congratulating the new leadership of the Adamawa State Council of the Nigerian Labour Congress for their successful election, the Governor expressed that payment of Thirty Thousand Naira National Minimum Wage would be surely be implemented before his tenure elapse.

Governor Muhammad Jibrilla said that ” My administration did not borrow a single Kobo to do any Capital Project in the state ” and challenged any one to verify at Zenith Bank where the state Government account is .” he emphasised.

He also revealed that his government has constructed and completed about 394 Roads across the state as well as providing other social amenities to the people of Adamawa State in the past Four years of his tenure as Governor of the state.

The Governor also explained that his government is up to date in terms of salaries and arrears of the civil servants.

He however called on the civil servants to extend similar support and cooperation being giving to his administration to the incoming government in order to move Adamawa State forward.

Earlier in his speech, the State Chairmen of NLC Comrade Emmanuel Fashe said this year’s Theme for the may day celebration is ” Another One Hundred Years of struggle for Jobs, Dignity and social justice in Nigeria “pointing out that NLC will continue to present their demands for the welfare of its members until they are adequately addressed by the government.

He urged the state Government to consider Training and Re- Training of Civil servants in the state to enhance optimum productivity in the civil service in addition to comprehensive pre – Retirement entrepreneurial training programme policy be formulated for civil servants as a pre requisites for exiting the service in the state.

The state Chairman of the NLC had also commended the state Government for clearing all the outstanding monthly salary of workers in the PHCDA, LEA, and Local Government Workers in the state.

Also in their faternal messages the representatives of ULC Comrade Obatunde Fayose and Alhaji Usman Dibal who represented the Labour minister use the occasion to appreciate the organised Labour and Adamawa State Government for maintaining industrial peace in the state. and congratulated the state council of the NLC for the successful conduct of 2019 delegate conference and election.

He however solicited for the cooperation of all stakeholders in Labour administration in the state towards ensuring industrial peace and harmony and assured that the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment will contribute to create the enabling working environment for the desire industrial peace for sustainable development and economic growth in the state.
