A group under the aegis of Democrats in Adamawa south senatorial zone has called on the incumbent member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde federal constituency in the house of representatives, Kwamoti B. Laori to without hesitation avail himself to represent the area in the senate ahead of 2023 general polls.
Spokesman of the group, Peter H. Bokido at a press conference in Yola, said, the call has become imperative in view of the track record, competence and integrity of the federal lawmaker.
Bokido who noted that since the advent of democracy in 1999 the area did not get good representation with the exception of one senator, noted that, Laori is the only messiah that will salvage the area from its current state of stagnation and underdevelopment.
“The democrats group zeroed her search to Barr. Kwamoti B. Laori, member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde federal constituency in the house of representatives and observed on him as follows;
” He loves the truth in his dealings with his constituents and people generally.
” He is audacious in decision making with regards to his responsibility and defends his constituents and those he come across especially when their rights are violated.
” He tolerates people from different backgrounds. He hardly makes promises, where he makes one, he does fulfil it,” Bokido said.
The spokesman noted that Laori’s wealth of experience as deputy chief whip, deputy majority leader, deputy speaker, acting speaker and chairman/member of various house committees have prepared him for the onerous task of representing the zone in the senate.
The group noted that Laori has during his stint as lawmaker representing Numan constituency in the state house of assembly Laori has performed so much wonders.
According to Bokido, some of Laori’s achievements include; sponsoring bills that impacted lives of his constituents positively, sponsorship of youths for solar energy training and various empowerment programs and gave beneficiaries starter packs.
Others according to Bokido include, availing students with loans to study at home and abroad, organizing free medical outreaches and sinking of numerous solar powered and hand operated boreholes.
The group noted that in his short stint as a federal lawmaker, Laori has distributed education materials to schools in the three local governments that made up his constituency.
Bokido also noted that Laori has also sponsored a bill for the establishment of a federal university of technical education in Numan adding that the lawmaker also sunk numerous solar and manually operated boreholes in almost all the needy wards across his constituency.
The group said Laori also distributed dry season farm inputs to his constituents, gave laptops to talented tertiary education students, construct an ICT center in Lamurde local government and currently constructing a town hall in Demsa.
The group noted that the lawmaker has constructed an examination hall in Imbru secondary school and is presently connecting Bille township electricity to the national grid.
