The Adamawa State Government has given reasons for the delay in paying June salaries to civil servants, assuring that necessary steps have been taken to resolve the matter.

The Senior spokesman to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Solomon Kumangar, says the delay was due to the recent financial autonomy granted to the Judicial and legislative Arms. The State Accounts Allocation Committee which has just been set up is sorting out modalities for the payment and this is responsible for the delay.

Kumangar also disclosed that a committee, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Accountant General”s
office and the Clerk of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, had been set up to determine the revenue allocation to all the Arms Government.
