The member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde federal constituency in the house of representatives, Rt. Hon Kwamoti B. La’ori, has commissioned an ultra-modern and standard Information and Communications Technology Center (ITC), in Lamurde, named after late Pascal Bafyau.
The activity was the fifth time in a month Laori is commissioning projects in the three local governments that made his constituency.
During his campaign tour, the lawmaker has promised to build the facility if elected.
Speaking at the event, La’ori thanked Almighty Allah, who gave him the will to fulfill all the electioneering campaign he made to the people.
“I told you that we will do it, today you can see the projects physically. I thank God who makes this dream a reality.
“This ITC building now is not mine, it’s yours you most maintain it because if you maintain the building, our children will benefit from the facility for many years,” La’ori said.
In his speech the chairman of Lamurde local government council, Honarable Pwadyanga William Burto, said “our area never witnessed the kind of development like the one brought by La’ori.
“Before now, our children have to go to Mubi or Yola to do their JAMB registration, but now they will do it in our communities. We are saying thank you Honorable, I promised to fence the ICT Centre” he said.
In her remarks, the principal of government day secondary school Lamurde, represented by Mr Eric Khobe, commended the lawmaker for providing the center in the area.
She said, “your promise is different from what we use to see from politicians.”
Early in his remarks, chairman People’s Democracy Party (PDP) Lamurde local government area Dumas Bello, thanked the lawmaker adding that the facility has already transformed the area into a modern community.
“They’re saying PDP won’t do anything, today we are proud we have projects to show to everybody. Before we use to go to Yola or Mubi, but now we have an ITC in our home
“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and our member of Rep. you’re trying, we are praying God Algmihty Allah to reward you,” Bello said.
Dignitaries who attended the occasion include Numan council chairman, Hon. Innocent Koto, Mr Bulus Daniel Gyawana State Development Area Administrator, Representatives of Bachama Traditional Council, Lamurde LGA Council Members, PDP Executives of Lamurde LGA, Lamurde Elders’ Forum, NCWS Lamurde, and Youth Organizations.
Meanwhile experts from National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) led by Mrs. Christiana Simon, supervised the well completed ICT Centre in Lamurde local government area Adamawa state.
