For rising tension in Adamawa state through his video that many consider a deliberate blackmail by one Alhaji Ikama Halidu Kato, who you could recall was reported to be a propagator of hate speech and meted unwarranted and unprintable foul languages on President Muhammadu Buhari, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barr Boss Mustapha by insulating them “useless men”
But the Chairman, Adamawa Concerned citizens (ACC) Alhaji Hussaini Gambo Bello Nakura dragged Ikamu to Yola Chief Magistrate Court to caution and to serve as a deterrent lesson to those using social media to reign unjustifiable attacks on innocent Nigerians.
Nakura said the organization decides to majorly join the fight against hate speech and using of foul language against innocent that is aided by bad politicians, going on unabated because of no law that seems to check mate such.
He further said they are a concerned Adamawa organization whose citizens they can never be allowed to be seen as enemies of other people irrespective of who they are, their political inclination, where they are, or even their religious background.
According to him, it’s becoming more worrisome how Nigerians are taking pleasure in using social media to blackmail people to settle political scores or for whatever reasons.
He said it’s the main reason the organization has dragged Ikamu to court and will ever stand up against all forms of disrespect to respected Nigerians.
“ACC has now joined the war against hate speech, against those using social media to blackmail innocent Nigerians.
“We brought this man to court as our first move to join in fighting the war against hate speech, especially those who turned themselves social media thugs and rascals.
” We are not for any party or religion, we are for all people. We are out to support anyone in the claws of this kind of person who earns a living by insulting others. we have charged him to court today to join the war against evil social media propagandists.” Gambo said
Hamidu was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court 4 in Yola, Adamawa state while shedding tears and pleaded guilty to the offense labeled against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Dimas Gwafu has since adjourned the hearing of the case to 2nd August 2021.
In the order of the court, Hamidu was asked to be remanded in the prison until 2nd August for further hearing.
However, this is coming after Alhaji Ikamu had since released another video asking for mercy.
In his second video, he pleaded for forgiveness from Boss and Buhari that he acted on ignorance and his tempers were high, not knowing the implication of his utterances.
