The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Demsa local government of Adamawa State, Gibson Pwadadi was yesterday handed down a vote of no confidence by no fewer than 10 ward chairmen of the party over sundry allegations of infractions and unwholesome conducts.
Spokesman of the aggrieved ward chairmen who is the PDP ward chairman of Dilli, Samson Kumbita during a press conference in Yola said, their action became necessary after the chairman refused to tow the path of moderation and reconciliation.
He said since Pwadadi assumed office, he has treated the people with utmost disdain and has hoisted impunity to unprecedented levels.
“Since the assumption of office of the PDP chairman in Demsa, he has been a divisive figure disuniting people in the party, disrespecting every other person in government and the party other than his paymasters whom are mostly outside of the party now, ethnicizing virtually everything within and outside of the party to suit his personal interests as aligned with that of his paymasters, creating animosity and enmity amongst party officials and members, factionalizing the party along interests of principalities and powers he worships and adore.
” We bore all these quietly while making efforts to school him in the art of leadership that is all encompassing and embracing even where differences exists but seemingly, he is incapable of learning and or is unwilling to learn and change getting to the point that we must collectively salvage the party from this destructive element,” Kumbita said.
The ward chairmen disclosed that the reason for the press conference was to bring an end to the sordid actions of the chairman.
“The crux of this briefing today is to bring to an end, the unruly and vexatious actions and attitude of Mr. Gibson Pwadadi in his leadership of the PDP in Demsa local government area. He refused to tow the line of reason and conciliation in a family affair and vehemently insists on using the instrumentality of police against his own even where he was the aggressive element and even where the police admonished him to settle with his people,” the spokesman noted.
They further said following the uncompromising posture of the chairman they will never reconcile with him even as they said their decision to do away with the errant chairman was final.
“As his tenure is ending, we thank God that he has not succeeded in breaking the party in Demsa as it is seemingly his task and resolve overtime hence our decision to let everyone know that Mr. Gibson is not fit and proper to be party chairman and more so in a cosmopolitan local government like Demsa with diverse people.
“Mr. Gibson and his paymasters be informed that the party is greater than any individual or entity and the good people of Demsa would never be taken for granted and or for a ransom. The people of Demsa are enlightened and the PDP would never provide a haven for spies and politician jobber,” Kumbita said.
