Adamawa APC Zoning plans: I stand by our position, sympathizes with any backslider- Babachir

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr Babachir David Lawal has reiterated the position of some stakeholders in Adamawa canvassing for the zoning of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State chairmanship position to Southern Senatorial District.

Lawal who had earlier signed a Press Release alongside other stakeholders of their position on zoning maintained that all people who participated or attended the meeting were consulted and that the decision was unanimous.

David However said that he sympathized with any backslider who chooses to renege on a decision taken unanimously, in good faith and in the best interest of the APC party and Adamawa state.

“Regrettably, not all people have the integrity and courage to publicly stick to their convictions.

“How I wish we had enough brave, sensible people in the party who understand that what we as a party ought to now avoid is a repeat of the 2019 scenario whereby some desperados took charge of the party at all costs but proceeded to woefully lose the general election.

“Still, I wish every Adamawa State APC member a very peaceful congress on Saturday,” David said

You would recall that a story published by TG NEWS of “State Congress: Adamawa APC Stakeholders zone chairmanship position to Southern zone’ has attracted divergent reactions with people like Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, Dahiru Bobboi, and Senator Mana, Engr Martins Babale distancing themselves from the said endorsement.
