Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani who is representing Adamawa Central in the National Assembly has refuted and described an online report as fake news to have alleged in their report that the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, (OSSAP-SDGs) used imaginary solar streetlights projects in Adamawa Central Federal constituency to steal funds.
The upper chamber Senator described the report as false and misleading with firm affirmation that the solar streetlight projects in her constituency were fully executed in line with Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 11.

Binani in a Statement signed by her Media aide, Adamu Ibraheem Jimeta said that All in One solar streetlight projects were installed in five of the seven Local Governments in the senatorial district by OSAP-SDGs as contained in the terms of the contract.
Part of the statement read: “the five local government areas are: Yola North, Yola South, Fufore, Song and Hong with each having 320 numbers of All in One Solar Street Lights to the credit of the Senior Special Assistant to Mr. President on SDGs and her officials.
“The project was embarked upon and executed to the admiration of many as it was a dream come true for the beneficiaries.
“The Installation of these lights was perfectly executed and evenly distributed across the Wards, Districts, and special areas of need in consultation with some stakeholders and traditional rulers from the various local government areas,” she said.
Senator Binani stated that symbolic commissioning of the streetlights projects was held at Limawa Ward in Yola North on the 6th of August, 2020, at about 08:30 pm and witnessed by some stakeholders, party officials, and traditional title holders.
The Senator explained that she facilitated the execution of the project due to high demand by the people across the 76 wards in her constituency that lighting up their environment will help in curbing rising cases of crimes perpetrated in darkness such as rape, armed robbery, killings, and other atrocities.
Senator Binani who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on SDGs and facilitator of the project challenged anyone in doubt to visit 56 wards across Yola South, Yola North, Fufore, Song, and Hong Local Government Areas for confirmation.
The Senator, therefore, condemned an attempt to impugn the integrity of OSAP-SDGs and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire with fake news by a reporter, advising the Reporter to always conduct a proper investigation on any reportage.
“The report is an attempt to disrupt the work of the SDGs Office with fake news; Princess Orelope-Adefulire has been in one state or the other in recent months commissioning projects that cater for the benefit of common Nigerians in tune with the determination of the Buhari’s administration to advance the 2030 Agenda in Nigeria.
“In the light of this, I wish to highly commend the hard work, dedication, patriotism, quality leadership, accountability, and transparent leadership style of the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Orelope- Adefulure,” she said.
She reiterated that for the sake of her people she will never loss grip of lobbying what is good and pass motion and bills for the overall benefits of Nigerians, most importantly her constituency.
