APC Primaries: Consensus will not work, but dialogue can unite us to victory -Umar, Adamawa Guber aspirant

A gubernatorial Aspirant in Adamawa State, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki (Otumba) said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will only succeed when free, fair, and credible primary elections take place.

Mustapha said this when he hosted journalists in his Yola residence and shade more information concerning his aspirations, the coming APC primaries in Adamawa, and the way forward.

He said his nomination and expression of interest forms are about to be submitted in Abuja is what will bury Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the whole of PDP if given the APC Guber ticket.

Umar is well known as Otumba said he has picked the forms because Adamawa electorates are with him and is a symbol of a new rebirth in the state.

He holds the opinion that he is the most popular candidate who widely consulted stakeholders and delegates. He earlier started the movement of taking back the power of leadership from PDP to chart a new course is what the people of Adamawa have asked him to do.

“Collectively we will bury PDP, Governor Fintiri will not be in existence when I get the primary ticket of our party.

” So the significance of buying the forms to contest symbolises the acceptance of my manifestos by the prople of Adamawa. I have good followership base, who are willing to swim the tires with me come rain come shower.” Otumba

He however, disabused the minds of sceptics and messengers of doom, who go about misinforming the people with a sort of dirty campaign of calumny that there is going to be a consensus.

Otumba said consensus at this stage with barely two weeks to primary elections is unheard of and will not work.

According to him, there won’t be any consensus because the basis for that is not on the ground, and those wanting the consensus arrangement probably did not do their homework. We simply have only two options. Work assiduously for the common good of the party and it’s success in the polls, or promote their recalcitrant interest by imposing unpopular candidates and loose popular votes to the detriment of the party.

He opined that in this precarious political scenario, it’s a hard decision for aspirants who have finished their homework, obtained forms with the hope to win the primaries and some people will come up with what will destroy the party.

“In Adamawa consensus will not work, maybe a sort of dialogue with aspirants will give out a fresh start on how to win elections, and not consensus.

” By the way, the consensus we are talking about is in favour of who? Why should we concede? As far as I’m concerned nobody consulted me on the issue, and since I have not been consulted the idea is dead on arrival.” Umar said. We are ready and set to promote APC with our large followership, and therefore, won’t be intimidated.

We have done our best both for our selves and the party, and God Willing success is ours both ways. APC knows those that will lead the party to electoral victory. Peoples expectations are high and we cannot afford to dissapoint them.
