The major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Makarfi Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency Kaduna State have purchased and presented forms for House of Representatives primaries to Honourable Samaila Aliyu Makarfi, whom they insist should represent them in 2023.
They were accompanied to the Kaduna State All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat by hundreds of supporters from his constituency on Thursday May 5.
Receiving them, APC Kaduna State Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (rtd) said he was delighted to see them at the secretariat.
“Why I am delighted is that we have party men in the constituency.
“He is very obedient, loyal and dedicated to duty. When he told me he was called upon to contest, I gave him my blessings, but we have to be neutral to all aspirants,” he said.
The chairman said that Honourable Samaila has been reliable, tested and trusted.
“You can give him a job to do and go to sleep, with full assurance he will deliver. With his character, I am not saying he must be the one you want. But whoever you present, we accept.
“If you want him, you must go out to vote. If it is delegates that will choose, you can go out and convince them to vote for him,” he said.
Speaking further, he called on them to give maximum support to the party.
“I want you to give our governor the maximum support. Do not allow any of our candidates to lose to any party in your constituency,” he charged.
Chairman Makarfi LGA, Engineer Kabir Mu’azu Mayere who led the clamour for Honourable Samaila’s representation in his remarks, said that they appeal to the party to support their aspirant for progress of the party and constituency.
He later presented the forms the APC State chairman to present to Honourable Samaila.
In an interview with newsmen, Honourable Samaila Aliyu Makarfi thanked his supporters for contributing and purchasing the forms for him.
He assured them of inclusive representation if he emerges winner.
On his chances at the poll against an opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said it would be a walkover for APC.
“As you can see the large crowd here, other contenders were here earlier to purchase forms, it was not this colourful with excitement,” he said.
Honourable Samaila, whose campaign slogan is, “2023: Moving Makarfi/Kudan Forward” is a member of the state working committee of the APC, serving as Treasurer.
He had served Kaduna State in the past in several capacities, including position of commissioner.
