Gubernatorial flag bearer of Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki (Otunba) has slammed a one billion naira (10,000,000,000.00) libel suit against Adamawa State Labour Union Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe and seven others.
The writ of summon was ordered by a federal high court in Abuja today (Wednesday) asking them to appear before the honourable court within thirty days of the summon.
Summon dragged comrade Dr B Nyalas, Comrade Nasiru Babale, Comrade Yilse Tanko Elam and comrade Usman Babbana.
Others mentioned in the summon are comrade Farouk Tarfa, Michael V Bolgent and Ninchi services Limited.
The Defendant the writ demand to appear in person or through at the federal high court in Abuja to defend two written publication: “Mr Umar Mustapha Madawaki cannot be the Labour Party candidate in Adamawa, Breaking: Otumba again denied ticket for Labor Party in Adamawa”.
According to the summon the publication has lower Umar in the estimation of reasonable and right thinking member of the society and therefore libelous of the claimant (Otunba) in their ordinary meaning and innuendo.
In the summon, Umar through his lawyer demand jointly payment of ten billion naira (10,000,000,000) by the defendant for libel and ordered the retraction of the story with apology to be published in two national dailies.
