The defection of over 400 hundred politicians hit the Adamawa People’s Democratic Party, PDP, last Friday.
The mass exodus of the PDP card-carrying members was said to have rejected and denounced their loyalty to the ruling party and defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
A development Numan APC party chairman said the ruling party have yet suffered another major loss in the state.
Confirming the development the Adamawa state former APC legal adviser, Barr Shagnah Pwamaddi confirmed to this medium that the former Lamurde Local Government Chairman, Hon Vrati Nzonzou, and many notable politicians were in Numan and received the decampees to the fold of APC.
The event which took place at Yanga village under Bolki ward of Numan Local government area witnessed a massive turn out of women, Youth holding brooms chanting defection song of leaving PDP to APC.
The APC Chairman of Numan Local Government Area, Hon. Ndukashe Mariko also told this news medium that the decampees left PDP to APC for lack of justice and unfair play meted on them.
Hon. Mariko assured them of justice and fairness and called on others Who are yet to join to do so because the voyage is about leaving for a Destiny of prosperity haven.
Out joy, Mariko said the returnees are known political foot soldiers and grassroots mobilizers in Numan Federation who are former Leaders in PDP.
“We are glad to have in our fold amble Men and women who former Local government Women Leader and other party Stakeholders of PDP in three wards of Vulpi State development area.
” You came at the right time, we have been in PDP together before I left for APC in 2014 now that your eyes are open to what pushed me out of that so-called party that lacks justice, fairness, and transparency we are now together in moving as a team to victory. I welcome you home.” He said
He urged them to use their political weight, and know-how to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming general election of 2023 and beyond.
Mariko however appealed to the old and new members of the party to work together in peace and always remain law-abiding, especially to the Constitution of APC.
“We are here to receive over 400 of our brothers and sisters who have decided on their own to join us in All Progressive Congress APC.
“They have keyed into the Agenda of the just concluded primaries that produced credible Candidates to unseated PDP led government.” He added
He cautioned that the occasion was not to kick off the campaign for the forthcoming general election, but he however remembered them of the need to support all candidates of the party that won Primaries elections at all levels.
Responding on behalf of the decampees Mr. Joseph Edison assured the party faithful that their return to APC was is to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the former Member House of Assembly Numan Constituency,
Hon. Sodom T Daniel, who is the Candidate for unseated PDP Member,
Edison also said that the Former Executive Chairman of Lamurde Local Government, Hon. Vrati S. Nzonzo has done well and by God’s will is going to be the next Federal House of Representatives, Representing Numan Demsa Lamurde and Engr Adamu Ismaila Numan APC flag bearer to Southern Senatorial District, Senator of Adamawa Central Distinguish Engr. Aishatu Dahiru Binanisre is all going to be supported to win elections in 2023.
