Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is prepared to give Nigerians the most credible election in the country’s history.
Mustapha told journalists in Yola, Adamawa State, at the weekend, during the wedding party of his daughter, Anna, that the President’s parting gift to Nigerians would be a credible election that people are going to remember him for.
“I want to assure Nigerians that on May 29, 2023, a new President will be sworn in office to take over from Buhari. I am already working on the transition programme; so Nigerians should be confident that the coming election will be credible,” he stated.
On his part, Buhari congratulated the SGF for giving out his daughter in marriage and urged the couple, Rebontop Nuhu and Anna, to emulate Mustapha’s humility.
Represented by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello, the President said there is bright future ahead of the couple, adding that God’s word should be there guide for a successful home.
Anna’s send-forth was more of a classical traditional wedding of the Hoba (Kilba) people of Hong Local Government where the cultural rites were recognized to symbolize the ceremony as customs and tradition demand.
The classical send-forth ceremony was held at the AUN commencement hall in Yola as the venue of the occasion.
Prominent people in and outside Nigeria comprises including Governors of states like Adamawa, Bauchi, Nassarawa, Taraba, and Borno, Ministers, Senators, Diplomats, and permanent Secretaries at the federal level visited Yola for the occasion.
Business tycoons and Captains of industries, politicians, friends, and well wishes of Boss Mustapha have all come out en mass to honor the occasional and witnessed the traditional exchange of vows and dowry collected from the Groom’s family.
The Church wedding was announced to hold in Abuja on 17th December 2022.
