For Fair play, equity and social inclusion in the political gameplay of Nigeria, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa-based stalwart, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan has vowed to sue political major parties.
Lawan said PDP and APC must face the wrath of the law if they fail to present a South West politician as a presidential candidate in 2023.
According to him, Nigeria will not be caged under the umbrella of only the Northern agenda will always prevail in the presidential seat in every election, this he inferred the country belongs to all and sundry under whichever region someone is coming from.
Ahmed in an interview with TGNEWS.COM.NG said the unity of Nigeria will be better enshrined in the principles of fair play, equity, justice and power sharing to all political zones making up the country.
He said he will fight to the last drop of his blood to make sure justice for one is justice for all when it comes to power sharing with no dominance from any part of the country.
“I have contacted a team of lawyers who are senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN) both within and outside the country, base on the doctrine of necessity, unity as the hallmark of development and for the sake of peace power rotation to South West is the wisest political decision all parties should consider in the interest of an undivided Nigeria.
” By any chance, they or either of the party refuses I will sue the party to court for taking a divisive means to plunder the country into a state of anarchy and political instability.
“For God’s sake, we all claim we are one Nigeria but whenever it is electioneering period to decide the leadership of this country one section will assume the Alpha and Omega of Nigeria destiny. I think there should not be any monopoly of leadership by a particular geopolitical zone in the country.
” This I now know why we are facing all sorts of crisis here and there. It’s because we are not fair to ourselves, we are not our Brothers keepers and we are selfish to only ourselves in the leadership aspects of the country. This time around we must get it right.
“The North has enjoyed eight years under the APC government, and under whichever party the South, especially from the west should be given the chance to produce the next president. This will equally go on to the south East and South-South as time will permit if we truly believe in the one Nigeria we preach.” Lawan said
Lawan who is a pioneer member of APC joining the party at a formation stage from the new PDP blog, was the party organizing Secretary in Adamawa state opined that his political experience is telling him that Nigeria will have better economic growth, development of all kinds if the principle of leadership rotation will be properly maintained
