A former Managing Director of First Bank PLC, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare has declared his interest to contest for Zamfara State Governorship in the upcoming 2023 general election.
Lawal made the declaration in the state capital during a reception Rally organized in his honor to receive him to his hometown Gusau on his way back from Abuja.
During the event, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare said he is on a rescue mission to save Zamfara State from challenges that hinder its development.
He affirmed that Security, Education, Health care, and Human Capital Development will be his priority to make the state better.
The Gubernatorial hopeful who lamented the deterioration of commercial activities in the State, said much needs to be done to revamp commercial activities as well as Agricultural Sector to put the state back to its lost glory.
He, therefore, appealed to the people of the state to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to obtain a Permanent Voter’s Card, and for those who registered already to keep it safe as it remains the only tool to vote for their choice.
It was observed that during the Rally, he was accompanied by Hon. Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, former Board Chairman of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, is vying for Senator Zamfara Central and other dignitaries.
Earlier, State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Col Bala Mande (retired) who received the gubernatorial Aspirant in his office, expressed optimism that PDP will snatch Zamfara State come 2023 considering the nerdy crowd that received the aspirant.
