The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has shown is indifferent stand over who he will support in becoming 2023 presidential candidate of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Ahmadu in a BBC Hausa service interview said that the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is no doubt a leader, a Father and their relationship is cordial.
When asked either he will vote for Atiku if he vie for the office of President in 2023, Fintiri however replied that the journey is still far and it will be too early to make such a decision.
“we are not yet there, the 2023 journey is still far, if we are there we will take a collective decision with Adamawa people, they gave me their trust.
” Whoever they say I should support that is exactly what I will do, we will all sit down in a round table to take final decision to support Atiku or not.
“We can’t do things blindly, people have suffered and are still suffering, we are to calm down, look inwardly and pray to God to help us figure out the winning chances. But I tell you PDP is the winning party in 2023.” Fintiri said
He also said that the choice of Atiku is solely the decision of God in 2023, to him whatever the outcome by God that is going to be their collective interest.
He affirmed their palsy walsy relationship is unbreakable more so that they belong to the same political party and the two of them are from Adamawa state.
Fintiri while filtering question from the BBC Hausa correspondent, Salihu Adamu reiterated his firm decision not leaving PDP to APC.
He said APC when it is party of note did not impress him to leave, is it now that is worthless and valueless he can join?
He lambasted the ruling party to be floating without a party structure.
“The party has became a wasted cage even a beggar does not need it, we are building PDP and by God’s willing we are going to form our government in 2023. APC is not a political party that I can join, unless you tell me to go and join federal government of Nigeria where President Muhammadu Buhari is the leader.” Fintiri said
” A political party should have a structure from ward to national level with its BoT members, but all these are lacking in APC.” He added
