Youths from all walks of life in their thousands gathered in Kaduna on Tuesday to show their unflinching support for the presidential candidacy of Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections.
The group under the auspices of Northern Youths, Peter Obi Support Organization, called on youths in the country to see the candidacy of Mr Peter Obi as a turning point meant to give them a sense of direction and restore their dignity as real future leaders of Nigeria.
The spokesperson of the group, Victor Ododo, while addressing thousands of youths in Kaduna on Tuesday, stated that time has come for youths irrespective of tribe, religion or section identify with the candidacy of Peter Obi in his presidential ambition to restore the dignity of the country among community of nations.
According to him, “Time has come that we the youths of this country have somebody in the person of Peter Obi that has what it takes to squarely address the issues that are of great challenges to the corporate existence of the country as an entity in all spheres of life. We are presently left with no future, no organised standard system of education, insecurity has become the order of the day in parts of this country that one can not pursue his or her legitimate means of livelihood.
“Today in Nigeria, the common man particularly, the youths are seen roaming the streets with nothing doing. Some who cannot stand the trials of the moment engaged themselves in all forms of social vices that are detrimental to the development of the country. Today in Nigeria life has become so miserable that people going about their normal way of life in search of what to feed themselves are killed, kidnapped or have their valuables destroyed for no just course by terrorists who freely operate with little or no hindrance.
“Today in Nigeria, the education of the youths has become a mirage as those from well to do find themselves in foreign lands in order to further their education without any hindrance. Life to the common man is so miserable and unbearable that people are just living not knowing what happened to them in the next minute.”
He stated that the candidacy of Peter Obi should be seen as a man who has come to emancipate the common man and especially give the youths hope of a better tomorrow in the country.
“As you go home, tell those that are not privileged to be here that we need to form a formidable force that come 2023, we will come out enmass and cast our votes to Peter Obi that if voted into office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he will restore what we have been yearning for years in the country without any hope for the downtrodden,” he stated.
Most of the youths who gathered assured of their support to the presidential ambition of the candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, saying that of all the presidential candidates, Peter Obi has really shown the political will to tackle the numerous problems confronting the country.
They also stated that no matter the pressures from any quarter, they have resolved to identify with the Labour party to give Nigerians and to ensure the numerous challenges confronting Nigerians are brought to the barest minimum.
