Drums of governorship position of 2023 election has begun to sound out with politicians drumming it loud with warnings, calls, and advice to the hearing of the Adamawa state sitting Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Alhaji Abdullahi Isa (Shugaba) a stakeholder of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Governor to sit up else Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Modibbo (Binani), the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate will unseat him.
According to him, the call is a warning of the impending and glaring dangers if neglected by Governor Fintiri, he will be doomed for a political suicide mission in the coming 2023 election.
He said Binani as the candidate of APC cannot toil away her ticket just like that because she is battle ready and focused on unseating him as she knows very well the game of politics.
Isa praised Fintiri to have massively done well in all the sectors of the State’s economy in providing physical roads and infrastructures in all 226 wards.
Isa while quoting Umar Bello (Calculate) however, worried that Fintiri has neglected the stomach infrastructure sector who is the mainstream of socio-economic development in the state.
Calculate in an earlier interview said Fintiri has done so much in other sectors, he needs people who are well-fed to project and advertise what he has done.
Isa called on the Governor to know that people are very much aware that he has done so well in the last three years, it is now time for them to have a stomach maintenance policy, especially the politicians who are foot soldiers that worked for his emergence as a Governor. As far as they are concerned this is the only way for them to know that he is personally touching their lives positively, else he is on his own.
“My Governor has worked for good three years, no doubt about it, that’s why he has the guts campaign again in all the 226 political wards.
” My school of thought in politics is that people also need to see the dividends of democracy right in front of them. He should not eat alone while everyone is sitting around the dining table of democracy with him. It’s when you are dishing out the food, and letting others eat, even if it’s the leftover, or the scrums. Eating alone can be so dangerous that one day the hungry ones may poison the food for you.” Isa said
He emphasized the need for stomach infrastructure as one of the policies if he maintains well will make him relevant in the Adamawa political game.
Umar recalled how former Governor Murtala Nyako is still influencing the Adamawa political schemes of things. That he was too nice to everyone virtually every family in Adamawa state directly or indirectly are getting something from the government.
“My call is simple, is either he sits up or Binani will unseat him because the woman is ever battle-ready to be the next Governor of Adamawa State. Where she is good and is an edge over Fintiri, is that she succeeded to be a philanthropist politician.
” People need to eat, pay their bills, and take care of their immediate. Projects here and there are very good, but are not what can take care of people’s needs, especially those people (politicians) who sacrificed their time and resources to help you become the next Governor, now is the payback time for them.” He said
