The Academic and Grant Writing Enclave (AGE) has empowered over 2,000 Nigerian researchers to access the N5 billion National Research Fund (NRF) for 2024, aimed at boosting national innovation.
The researchers, comprising 58 universities, 20 polytechnics, 11 colleges of education, and 8 research institutes, underwent a recent training session to enhance their chances of securing NRF funding.
According to AGE, the impact of the training is far-reaching, with over 13,000 participants trained, 650 institutions engaged, and a presence in 80+ countries.
AGE’s efforts aim to drive groundbreaking research
Additionally, more than 400 academic professors, 6,800 PhD holders, and 200+ NGOs have benefited from AGE’s programs.
Dr. Wadzani Dauda Palnam, Director of Research and Development at AGE, emphasized the strategic investment in Nigerian research, equipping scholars with skills to write compelling concept notes, increasing their chances of securing funding, and addressing the nation’s critical needs.
Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko, Vice Chancellor of AbdulKadir Kure University, highlighted the importance of a strong concept note in securing funding, praising AGE’s guidance in unlocking significant resources for researchers.
AGE’s efforts aim to drive groundbreaking research, solidifying Nigeria’s place in global academic and scientific innovation. The 2024 NRF Grant Cycle is expected to benefit from AGE’s initiatives.
