Ahead of the 2027 Nigeria’s general elections, Coalition of APC Christians for Progress Support Groups in Bauchi State has endorsed the second term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Coordinator of the Coalition, Godfrey Manasseh Marti who made this known while addressing decampees from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) added that the Coalition also endorsed the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate for the Bauchi governorship race.
During the defection, not fewer than 150 Executive members of various amalgamation of Christian Youths and Women of the PDP formally dumped the party to join the APC.
The defectors explained that they came to the decision of dumping the PDP considering the deceit and injustice metted on them since they were in the party.
The former PDP Executives of the coalition comprising of Youth CAN and Christian Women fellowship wings members, as well as other individuals from Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa local government areas have also announced their endosment of President Bola Ahmad Tinibu for the second term.

Speaking at a ceremony to receive the defectors in Bauchi, the State Coordinator of Coalition of APC Christians for Progress Support Groups, Godfrey Manasseh Marti noted that the endorsement of President Bola Tinibu for the second term became imperative considering his economic policies that rises the foreign reserve from 3 to 25 billion US Dollars.
While appreciating the present administration’s efforts to rehabilitate 880 Primary Healthcare Centres across the country, the Coordinator of the coalition said that bills of some medical treatments in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi have also been subsidized.

According to the leader of the group, so far, over 10,000 decampees from PDP and other parties have joined the APC reaffirming their support to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate Endorsing him as candidate of APC Governorship Candidate in the state.
In a keynote address, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate enjoined the defectors to follow due process of the defection to become full pledge members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Professor Ali Pate who is also the Special Guest of Honour at the event was represented by his Senior Special Assistant, Rabiu Shehu Gamawa, commended organizers of the event and promised to carry the defectors along for them to enjoy dividends of democracy.
On his part, the state CAN Youths leader, Linus Matthias advocated for the provision of empowerment programmes, young Christian engagement into politics and charged them to become good ambassadors of the Association.
Speaking on behalf of Women Christian Association, Mrs Asabe Tula enjoined women to contest for various political positions like their male counterparts in the forthcoming 2027 general election.

Mr Damina Moses Gagarau who spoke on behalf of the decampees, claimed that they were leaving PDP because of injustice, deceit and lack of trust being shown to them.
