A Northern political group, Let’s Nigeria Breathe Again, has endorsed a potential presidential ticket of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the 2027 election.
The group’s leader, Mustapha Aliyu Lere, believes this pairing offers the best chance for unity, peace, and progress in Nigeria.
Lere praised Jonathan’s leadership and integrity, noting that he has committed no sins against anyone since leaving office in 2015.
He also commended Fintiri’s transformation of Adamawa State during his five-year tenure as governor.
The group leader appealed to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to unite and support Jonathan’s potential candidacy, citing the need for experienced leadership to address Nigeria’s challenges. Lere also suggested that the All Progressives Congress (APC) consider wooing Jonathan to their party, emphasizing that his leadership is crucial to Nigeria’s salvation.
This pairing offers the best chance for unity, peace, and progress in Nigeria.
Lere warned that selfish interests and disunity within the PDP could jeopardize the party’s chances in 2027, as seen in the 2019 election. He urged Nigerians to demand Jonathan’s return as leader, even if it means forming a new party.
The endorsement of the Goodluck/Fintiri ticket reflects the group’s desire for a leadership change that can bring about positive transformation in Nigeria.
