The former First Lady told The Guardian that she needs peace, and therefore cannot return to the Villa.

Mrs Jonathan said, “The distress of Nigeria is so much that if God manages to bring you out of it, you should glorify Him.

“Why do you want to go back there? I need peace. My peace is enough.”

The former First Lady spoke amid mounting pressure on her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan to throw his hat in the ring for the 2027 presidential election.

Recall that presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga recently warned Jonathan against listening to those urging him to run, reminding him of his defeat in the 2015 presidential election.

Speculation is rife that Jonathan may contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2027.

But the former president has yet to declare whether he will run or not.
