A chilling incident has shaken the Elebele Community of Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa State, as a 22-year-old man, identified as Godwin, has been accused of stabbing his mother to death. The alleged motive behind the heinous crime is a disturbing one: Godwin reportedly believed that his mother was hindering his destiny and wealth.

According to eyewitnesses and residents of the community, Godwin had returned to Elebele a few weeks ago, after spending several months in Benin City, Edo State. His return, however, was marked by a noticeable change in behavior, with some community members claiming that he had become increasingly erratic and withdrawn.

As the investigation into the murder unfolds, disturbing details have emerged. Some residents alleged that a pastor had warned the deceased mother of an impending danger, cautioning her not to accept any strange gifts from her son. Others claimed that Godwin had made bizarre claims, stating that a mysterious figure, referred to as “Baba,” had informed him that his mother was responsible for holding back his destiny and wealth.

Okala further revealed that Godwin had been heard saying that his mother was in possession of his destiny and wealth, allegedly as revealed to him by “Baba.”
