In a daring operation, the Nigerian Army has dealt a significant blow to bandits in Taraba State, killing one and securing the surrender of 23 others. The successful mission, which took place on February 2, 2025, was carried out by troops from 6 Brigade and Operation Whirl Stroke, who acted on credible intelligence to dismantle a notorious bandit camp in Angwan Bala.


The army recovered various weapons, including AK-47 rifles and motorcycles, and investigations revealed that the bandits had paid a local chief to establish their camp. This victory is a testament to the army’s commitment to securing Taraba and eliminating criminal elements in the region.
The 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, under the leadership of Brigadier General KC Uwa, has been making significant strides in ensuring peace and security in Taraba State, conducting intensive clearance operations to dismantle bandit hideouts and ensure a safe environment for residents.
