The 2024 Inter Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition kicked off with a tug of war event, which was won by the 23 Armored Bridge in Yola
The competition, held at the Gibson Jallo Barracks Headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State, will run from August 19 to August 23.
The event is part of the 3 Division Combat Proficiency Competition, which aims to foster comradeship and boost combat readiness among participating formations.
A total of 53 commissioned officers from six formations across the 3 Division are taking part in the competition.
In his opening remarks, Brig General A.Aminu, representing the General Commanding Officer, emphasized the importance of combat proficiency in line with global best practices.
The GOC appreciated Lt General Toareed Abiodun Lagbaja for approving resources for the competition and urged participants to embrace Esprit De Corp.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, commended the Nigerian Army for organizing the event and called on officers to train and equip themselves to tackle Nigeria’s insecurity challenges.
The Commander 23 Brigade, Brig General PK Zawaya, noted that the competition is timely and will motivate the force to achieve its constitutional responsibility.
The competition aims to boost morale and enhance troops’ capabilities in joint operations to address insecurity challenges in the Northeast.
