The Adamawa State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) endorsed Comrade Ladi who is vying for the position of President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and Vilian Murray is eyeing the North East Secretary of Zone E of the Union.
The NUJ on its regular Congress held yesterday(Saturday) had coming NAWOJ elections top on its top agenda and resolved on the candidature of Ladi and Vilian who are respectively going for national President and Zonal Secretary.
The state NUJ chairman, Ishaka Dedan who preesided over the NUJ Congress at the Press Centre in Yola, called out Ladi Bala who is seeking election to be NAWOJ president, as well as Vilian Murray who is going for the office of Secretary Zone E (Northeast).
Dedan gave official recognition to Ladi, currently the National Secretary of NAWOJ, and Vilian, currently the Adamawa State vice chairperson of the association, and adopted them as Adamawa’s own candidates for the new offices that they seek at the national level of NAWOJ.
Dedan subsequently invited the state NAWOJ chairperson, Hajia Zainab Abubakar, who gave her own blessings and prayed for Ladi and Vilian.
Earlier during the NUJ Congress, which was held at the Conference Hall of the NUJ Press Centre in Jimeta, NUJ Chairman Dedan had announced that the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State had approved NUJ’s request to give the NUJ a bus and to sink a borehole at the Press Centre.
He said the decision to request for the items came after the NUJ cancelled its plan to do a tour of the 21 local government areas of the state.
He also announced that the NUJ had gone far in its efforts to get a CofO for the Press Centre to effectively take ownership of the property for which no CofO has ever been issued.
He said the CofO would materialize very soon and that it would be welcomed with a big celebration considering the long and tedious struggle that the previous and current leaderships of the NUJ have made for its issuance.
