The All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa State National Assembly (NASS) caucus under the leadership of Distinguished Senator Ashatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani called on the party stakeholders in the state, the state working committee (SWC), all loyal supporters of the party never allow rumour and divisive elements create a problem among them in their plans to take over the state under the leadership of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of PDP led government.
The APC caucus members who are elected members of the party with Sen Binani representing Adamawa central, Rt Hon Yakubu Yusuf Buba (Captain), representing Gombi/Hong, Rt Hon Abdulrazaks Sa’ad Namdas, representing MayoBelwa/Jada/Ganye/Tongo and Hon Magaji Jaafar, Representing Mubi South/Mubi North/Maiha stormed the state Secretariat in Yola, Saturday afternoon and vowed to begin activities that will carry members of the party along.
Binani, leader of the delegation in her speech stressed the need of unity and strategies to move forward the party in the state and liaise with the National working committee (NWC) under Mai Mala Buni caretaker committee on issues regards Adamawa APC party.
“Those of us here present are elected leaders of the party, it is our responsibility to keep the party flag flying high and to also keep party activities alive in order not to lose members to other parties,” Binani said
She advised that there is a need for meetings by all party organs, especially from wards to local government levels to keep discussing issues and matters affecting the interest of the party at the state level.
“We will soon embark on a statewide membership drive as an arrangement to that effect are being worked out by members of the national working committee. We must maintain a strong bond of unity and not allow rumours and divisive elements to create problems for us.
“Whenever there are issues that require the NWC, please do not hesitate to bring it to our notice so that we can promptly handle it with the SGF and the Honourable Minister and the stakeholders, as I said please do not hesitate to link up with us whenever the need arises,” Aishatu added
On his own contribution, the lawmaker representing Gombi/Hon, Yakubu Buba commended the leadership of the party under Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal whose ability in 2015 worked out the success of the party in all the 21 local government areas of the state.
He however worried that the internal squabbles of the party in 2019 resulted to a gross loss of many seats including the governorship and two senatorial districts which was never the fault of the party leadership in the state.
While responding, the Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal extolled the quality representation of the NASS caucus members of keeping the glory of APC alive in the state with their projects being felt and seen across the state.
He said as leaders of the party, they must carry everyone along especially those from their Immediate constituencies.
Bilal ascribed the leadership of the party to Sen Binani by calling her mother of APC party in Adamawa state, as according to him the role she always plays and her works are all over the state, it does not stop at her constituency alone.
