…accuse them of human rights abuse
People of the Kwalamba community of Gombi local government area of Adamawa took to the streets protesting against what they described as inhuman and maltreatment of Nigeria soldiers stationed in the junction between the community and Garkida to protect them and fight against all forms of insecurity bedeviling the area.
But a viral audio on Saturday revealed that the people in Kwalamba are tired of the behaviors of the soldiers, calling on concerned authority to take the urgent steps of removing one Captain Mohammed whom they alleged is using his men to inflicts pains on them instead of protection.
They accused Mohammed of violating human rights, maltreating them, and causing unnecessary hardship for no just course.
In the audio a citizen gave a background commentary alleging that Captain Mohammed blocked the road from Kwalamba to Garkida, beating innocent people if they dare try going through the blocked road.
According to one Umar Gombi that protest erupted when the said Captain Mohammed ordered his men and give a thorough beating to one hunter also a member of vigilante in the area, where they gave him serious injuries in his head.
In the audio, the commentator said what the soldiers did infuriate the people in the community and mobilized themselves and chased them from the Garkida junction where they were station to work.
“This soldier will run away when there is trouble, but the moment there is calmness they will come back and be maltreating us. We don’t want captain Mohammed again, let go, he and his men are maltreating us.
” The people of the community and hunters mobilized themselves, armed with matchets, sticks and den guns to face the soldiers ” The audio revealed
