Armed thugs invade NLC secretariat in Kaduna

Armed thugs, on Wednesday, invaded the Kaduna State Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

Hundreds of the armed thugs took over the NLC state secretariat, where protesters partaking in the ongoing 5-day warning strike had been converging.

But a police team later dispersed them and even arrested no fewer than 20 of them at the NLC state secretariat.

State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the suspects’ arrest.

He said security operatives had been deployed to avert a break down of law and order.

Earlier on Wednesday, the protest turned violent when thugs attacked demonstrating workers at NEPA roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way.

The protesting workers, however, continued their action on Wednesday as they all converged on the NLC secretariat, chanting, “No retreat! no surrender!”
