The Youths of Adamawa State have thrown their weight behind Hon. Vrati Sahulama Nzonzo for the state championship position of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Youth in a communique have lamented the pitiful State of the party because of non inclusion of people from Numan federation holding the helm of party’s affairs.
The communique which have signatures of fifty Youths drawn from the local government areas of Numan, Guyuk, Demsa, Lamurde and Shelleng said Nzonzon has what it take to change the party narratives in the state.
According to them, they are presenting Vrati to be the party front runner in the coming state Congress because is one of the most popular youth in the politics of Numan Federation and the most influential Youths Leader in Adamawa State.
“Our candidate is well experienced in party politics and has about fifteen (15) years experience in public service. He is very outspoken, strategic, courageous, friendly, benevolent patriotic and loyal to APC as a party.
“We are calling on APC members and supporters in this State to know that if APC does not increase her popularity in Numan Federation we cannot win 2023 general elections.
“We are appealing to all our party stakeholders to eschew selfishness and bias while embracing patriotism towards the progress of our party as the choice of our candidate is purely based on credibility, merit and capacity to deliver good party leadership.
” If we can trust him with the responsibility to take APC to the Next Level because he has proven his leadership skills and capacity in so many ways over the years, haven delivered sound leadership while a Chairman of Lamurde LGA, tireless support for the APC in Lamurde LGA which led APC to produce two serving councilors.
“Because of him the recent party membership registration saw Lamurde increasing her membership by over 1000% and joining the first seven (7) LGs in terms of membership strength.
“Very recently, Hon. Vrati chaired a committee that organized the APC June 12 Democracy Day Celebration in Yola that sent shivers down the spine of the opposition. His success story is endless.” The communique Stated
While appreciating the National caretaker committee led by Mai Bala Buni, the state interim caretaker committee led by Ibrahim Bilal the local government and Ward officials of the party they said Vrati is the political strategist the party will fortunate to have hence the calling support.
The communique also observed that APC in Adamawa, especially Numan Federation stigmatized the people, the party only favours Fulanis and Hausas but the likes of Vrati will further change the negative narratives.
They said Numan federation has been a major force and a determining factor in forming successive Governments in Adamawa State due to it’s unanimous and massive pattern of voting. To maintain the strides, Hon Nzonzo will suit in to maintain the election pattern of the people.
Also through the communique, the Youth recommended that for the party to be well position towards restoring it’s lost glory by securing more electoral victories the negative perception created about the party as an anti-Christian can only be changed by voting a Christian as chairman, this will give Christian/Ethnic Nationalities in Adamawa State a sense of belonging in APC.
“That the position of the state Chairmanship of APC be zoned to Adamawa South senatorial zone but specifically Numan Federation as a matter of political strategy that will strengthen the weakest link in Adamawa APC, which is our areas of Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Guyuk and to a large extent Shelleng.
“The emergence of APC state chairman from this area will provide the much needed sense of belonging to the good people of this areas and will serve as a rallying point for party faithfuls to grow Socio-Economically. This strategy will ensure an unprecedented up surge in APC votes in the 5 LGAs in particular while giving the remaining L.G.As of the state the encouragement to do even better thereby ensuring victory for our party in 2023 general elections.
“That to add class and style to the disposition of the party in the state, a loyal charismatic, youthful, experienced, vocal and well educated candidate should be considered for the herculean task of Chairing the party in this challenging times.” They recommended
