A humanitarian who has been working with CISCOPE,an international organization that specializes in taken care of people in crisis prone areas,Peter Michael Egwuda celebrated his 42nd birthday with thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Malkohi IDPs resettlement area of Yola North LG of Adamawa state.
The children whose age are between 2 and 7 were surprised for Mike to have put smiles in their faces today with lot of eateries, cloths,and other food items in the camp.
Mr Peter Danced, wined and ate with well wishers as a mark of sympathising with the IDPs on the unfortunate thing that happened to them.
According to Peter that this year’s birthday celebration would have been incomplete without him coming to visit his good friends (IDPs) who has been a source of encouragement to him in life.
“If you are not close to this kind of people you will not know the meaning and the value of life, they are just a victim of circumstances, innocent of the whole issues of Boko Haram that ravaged hundreds of communities in some states in the North Eastern part of the country. ” Michael said
“Being around them teaches me to fear God, value lives and thank God that I’m not better than them as I can also be the victim of the insurgents attacks like them.” He added
When interviewed one of the head leader of the settlement,Zannah Bukar Ali while weeping thank the donor for putting smiles in the lives of their children today and praying that one day they will be asked to go back to his home in Gwaoza, Borno state.
At midst tears of joy, a woman in the IDPs community,Aisha Abdullahi showered prayers of blessings to Mr Michael and pray that one day the federal government will take them back to their respective communities in Borno state.
