An aspirant in Adamawa under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bobby George Ibbi has concluded an arrangement to drag the party in Adamawa to court over the omission of his name in the ballot paper constesting for Numan, Demsa and Lanurde House of Representatives (HoR) seat.
Bobby narrated his ordeal during a press conference in Yola that he was walked out of the venue for the Primaries election of the Federal constituency that he is not among the contestant.
Dumbfounded as he was to have purchased the nomination and interest forms for the APC running to millions of naira, passed through the screening committee in Abuja only on the day of the election someone by the roadside will tell him that is not among those aspiring.
The Young aspirant said that the injustice in the APC is becoming unbecoming to the extent of robbing its member in a broad daylight.
To him collecting his money and not allowing him to participate in the APC primaries is more like robbery, a party he so much love and cherished to have done this to him is heart broken.
He told media men in Yola that the process and the party are not being fair to him, they would have allowed him to even participate in the process if there are issues of concern he will channel them to the primary election committee to handle them.
According to him as it is, there is no way to go seeking redress than to drag the party to court for injustice and infringement of human rights.
Ibbi said he saw a political comedy at the venue of the primaries in Numan with a warm spirit, fully prepared with his agents to go and win as the majority of the delegates are waiting to cast their votes for him as the most popular, the most acceptable being the youngest in the area only to be excused out of the place by a police officer.
He said one Barrister Yahaya who said he was the Chairman committee of the Lamurde, Demsa, and Numan election presented to him a White Paper with something written on it “not cleared”.
” I asked all my supporters and agents to work out of the venue so that we cannot constitutes a nuisance. In my own very eyes and the eyes of the law, there was no primary election for Lamurde, Demsa, and Numan Federal constituency.
“I’m going to be challenging what took place today in Numan in court, and it will decide my fate on this matter,” Bobby said
He continued to say that he doubted much if he is going to be screened out of the contest by the screening committee having the exposure to know the intrigues of using millions of Naira to obtain forms without knowing whether he will be screened out or not.
“If you faced a screening committee you should be able to know whether you are screened out or not, besides the party’s Constitution spelled out that there is fourteen days window period to appeal shall there anything like that. All these were not done until this morning someone was telling me I’m not on the list of the aspirants after many days of my campaign.
” Well I don’t want to take the laws into my hands, the court through my lawyer will do that on my behalf because I didn’t participate in the election. If I did participate, I should be heading to the appeal committee to seek redress.
“My fears sir, my party, the APC may not have a candidate for the people of Demsa, Lamurde, and Numan federal constituency in 2023. I pray the court should give me a speedy response.” Ibbi said
Ibbi, however, said that he is not accusing anybody of his troubles that is why is going to court for justice to prevail and the court will blame and will raise accusing fingers against whoever is found wanting.
