A 52-year-old man, identified as Salihu Byezhe, has died after collapsing during Subhi prayers at a mosque in Gudaba village, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The deceased had been a high blood pressure patient, and his condition had worsened during the morning prayers
According to eyewitnesses, Byezhe had eaten Sahur (morning food during Muslim fasting) and performed ablution before attending the morning prayers. He suddenly slumped during the prayers and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
A resident of Gudaba, Musa Dantani, said the deceased had been a high blood pressure patient, and his condition had worsened during the morning prayers.
The remains of the deceased were buried around 10:12 am on Thursday according to Islamic rites.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased.
