6th Graduation Ceremony: Air Force Comprehensive School Yola Marks 10th anniversary

Air force comprehensive school yola today marks her 10th anniversary, 6th graduation and 8th speech and prize giving day ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The event which took place at the school’s multi-purpose hall was graced by Royal Fathers, commandant of AFC Yola, special guest of honor, parents, well wishers and staff of the school.

Prof. Bashir Abbas, Chairman of the occasion in his opening remark described their gathering as a thing of joy as they came together to recognize the achievements of their children/wards who are students of the institution, most especially the SS3 graduating students.

He congratulates them for the milestone they have achieved and encourage them to continue to uphold integrity, honesty and discipline which the school have inculcated in them as this will usher them into the outer world.

“The journey there may be challenging, but also filled with lots of opportunities. May your futures be brighter and Brighter” he said.

He thanked the staffs for their efforts in raising the students diligently.

Group captain Mustapha Garba, the commandant of AFC Yola, said the school has achieved remarkable success over the years due to the students exceptional talents, dedication and commitment to excellence both in academics and co-curricular activities. Furthermore, he said the students have consistently excelled in external examinations with outstanding success rate in WAEC and JAMB UTME.

He pointed out that these year’s JAMB UTME can stand as a testament to the student’s academic excellence, with an impressive 93% scoring above 180 points, notably Usoh Mfoniso Usoh-Samson, who has the highest score of 353 points. a feet that earned him the top in Adamawa state.

Not only are the students excelling in academics but also in various competitions ranging from debate, Quiz and power point presentation, ICT competition, chess tournament, spelling bee and scrabble competition.

“I congratulate each and every one of you on reaching this significant milestone, making you worthy ambassadors of AFCS Yola. As we gather under the theme “Cultivating Brighter Futures Through Quality Education”, I urge you to recommit yourselves to your academic dreams and aspirations.

Remember that hard work, patience, commitment and determination are the keys to unlocking success. You have successfully navigated our rigorous and competitive academic process over the past six years, and I encourage you to consider yourselves fortunate for this achievement.” He added

He urge the students that as they proceed to tertiary institutions, they should shun vices such as drugs, cultism, indecent dressing, theft, exam malpractice and sexual harassment. He encourage them to cultivate a strong character that will guide them towards a bright destiny. Remember, character is what you do when no one is watching.

Dr Francis O Awodoyin, (PhD) who rendered a lecture on: cultivating a brighter future through quality education, urged the graduating students to search for the kind of future they want and work towards it, work with people of like minds and have a clear vision.

Moving further was the unveiling of the school’s 11th edition magazine called The STABILATOR by the editor Mr George Itodo Pascal and other dignitaries.

Mrs. Alabi Lateefah Adeola, vice principal administration described the outgoing students as the best and thanked them for their cooperation.

“Be sure to make positive impact in the world and make your Alma mater proud, don’t stop learning she said, it is said that when you stop learning, you stop existing. I wish you all well as you go out there” she stated.

Highlights of the ceremony was the cutting of the cake in celebration of the institutions 10th anniversary by the outgoing head boy and girl, presentation of prizes to outstanding students in various subjects, presentation of poem,chorography and farewell song by the students.
