Seven passengers have reportedly died in a fatal road crash along Jabbi-lamba Mallam Madugu road in Girei local government area of Adamawa state, Adamawa State police command has confirmed.
In a phone chat with our reporter, the image maker of the command DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the accident might have been caused by recklessness, over speeding and overloading.
Nguroje said the accident was a head on collission between a Toyota Corolla Starlet and a Toyota Sienna bus around 4:00pm on Sunday.
He added that all the 6 passengers in the Toyota starlet “a mini car” died on the spot including the driver, while the driver of the Sienna bus who is alone sustained serious injury.
Nguroje called on motorists to strictly adhere to highway codes in order to avoid such fatalities in the future.
