Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has today lauded the giant strides of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over the landmark projects he is putting in place, noting that after the completion of the flyover and grade interchange, Yola may become unrecognizable.
Makinde who was in the state to commission some road projects done by the Fintiri administration also congratulated the people for having a caring government.
“I must commend governor Fintiri for the infrastructural development done in the state and congratulate the people of Jimeta.
“I also saw an underpass and another overhead bridge being built. From the look of things, we may not recognize Yola again very soon.
“From what I have observed, his excellency has been working hard for the people of Adamawa State,” he said.
In his speech during the commissioning of the roads spanning 8.8km in various parts of Yola North local government, Wednesday, governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said, his administration will soon launch agribusiness support program and called on the people to key in to the programme for socioeconomic development of the state.
Adamawa State house of assembly had approved the Governor’s request to receive N100 billion bond for the programme.
Fintiri said that the programme provides an opportunity to unlock the state’s potentials and enjoy shared prosperity as a people.
“It is against this background that we are set to launch the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme.
“I am calling on all our citizens to support and prepare to exploit the opportunities in the programme”, he said.
“As an administration, we are powered by an aggressive drive to change the narrative of the State.
“The vision is to have an Adamawa State that is financially stable; where cost of governance both recurrent and capital can conveniently be defrayed from a stream of revenue invented within,” he said.
According to him, the guiding philosophy is to ensure no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched.
Gov. Fintiri further said that the ongoing construction of 1,000 housing units has reached advance stage.
He said that the project is the largest Housing Programme by a single administration in the state.
“I am happy to announce that work has reached advance stage on the housing estate which is adjudged to be the largest Housing Programme by a single administration in the annals of Adamawa State,” he added.
Fintiri said he is determined to complete and commission the project and to ensure that people are proud owners of houses they can afford with friendly mortgage terms.
