Anti corruption:RoLAC trains CSOs/Media on Implementation of ADSACS & ADSJSR Action Plans.

An ongoing two days workshop organised by European and British council with support from Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) is training CSOs/Media on the implementation of the Adamawa State Anti-Corruption Strategy (ADSACS) Action plan.

The workshop is also training participants on the implementation of Adamawa State Justice Sector Reform Action plan that were earlier developed by some key stakeholders in the state.

While welcoming participants,the State Coordinator,RoLAC Barr. Hapsat Abdullahi said the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption is a programme that is being supported by the British Council and Funded by the EU

Hafsat further said that the programme us focus to targets government and its relevant agencies/institutions civil society organizations by strengthening them in order to engage public dialogue on Criminal Justice and Anti-Corruption Policies.

According to her Adamawa State has already developed and validated its Anti-corruption Strategy which is known as Adamawa State’s Anti-Corruption Strategy ADSACS and Justice Sector Reform known as Adamawa Justice Sector Reform Team ADSJSR. She welcomed the participants to the programme, her words.

“ I hope and pray this gathering  after much deliberation it will take us to a fruitful end,and good decisions will be taken to move the state forward of becoming a corruption free state.

“The action plan for Justice Sector Reforms and that of the ADSACS won’t stop at that, we are going to follow-up to see that we have implemented the Action Plan we are going to agree on today”. Hafsat Said

A consultant with RoLAC and British Council,Dr. Ada Eze extensively equipped participants (CSOs/Media) with the knowledge to raise awareness activities and collaborate with MDAs in the ADSACA Action plan and JSR Action Plan.

Mrs Eze Also trains the CSOs/Media on how to identify priority activities and come up with the priority actions to implement the strategists, to provide a platform and results monitoring strategies by implementing the priority actions.

She said the workshop is expected to create more awareness and commitment be seen in CSOs /Media on the implementation of the 2 Action plans on corruption fight in Adamawa state.

” We expect much awareness, knowledge and capacity gained for collaborative work to be established on anti corruption programme by the people of Adamawa state.” She said

While calling on participants to show much interest by contributing to have a functional RoLAC programme,she engaged them on the process of outlining activities for CSOs and Media, how the two can collaborate with relevant MDAs.

The interactive meeting is holding at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Hotel in Yola,Adamawa State with Lawyers, Chiefs of civil organizations,journalists,anti graft crusaders.
