Adamawa state house of assembly has considered and adopted as amended the outstanding report of its standing committee on environment on a bill for a law to establish the Adamawa state Waste Management and Environmental Sanitation Board.
The adopted of the report followed its presentation on the follow of the house by the committee’s former chairman Lumsambani Mijah Dilli of Demsa constituency during Wednesday’s legislative proceeding.
According to the findings of committee, the need to establish the waste management and environmental sanitation board is in line with the global practice as there is wealth in waste and also create job opportunities and generate revenue for the state.
The former chairman who is the house minority leader explained that best on the recommendations of the committee the law will enable the carry out environmental health services and safe waste management system in the state.
Other recommendations of committee are the General Manager of the board shall be a registered environmental health officer with fifteen years working experience and prescribe reasonable fees for erecting Bill Boards posting of bills.
After thorough deliberations on the report by the lawmakers speaker kabiru Mijinyawa who presided over the sitting directed the chairman house committee on rules, business, ethics and privileges to schedule the bill for third reading.
