A group of matured Youths across the five (5) LGAs of Numan Federation (Numan, Lamurde, Demsa, Guyuk and Shelleng) have called on the Chairman, Governing Council of Adamawa State University, Mubi, Prof Maxwell Gidado to contest the Senatorial Seat of the Adamawa Southern Zone at the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
In a Press Statement released by the Numan Federation Group Coordinator for Prof Gidado 2027, Comrade Ishaya Samuel, immediately after their maiden meeting, the Youths cited “Experience” , “Positive Exposure” and “Love for humanity” as reasons for their endorsement of the Garkuwan Sugu- Chief (Prof) Maxwell Gidado, saying that with him as the Senator, the Southern Zone can confidently compete with any Senatorial Zone across the Country and will attract the needed Federal presence, which the Zone has not felt, compared to other Zones in the State.
They resolved to send a delegation to the former Chief of Staff to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Prof Maxwell Gidado to persuade him to accept to contest, for the interest of the Zone.
The group also cited the need to produce the next Governor from Numan Federation as another reason for supporting the experience Professor, from the Ganye Chiefdom zone, so as to balance the political office spread.
