A call was made to Adamawa State Government under the leadership of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to go for a talent hunt across the State to empower genius and gifted Children who abound, roaming the streets of the State doing nothing.

Adamawa born American-based, Engr Steven Gadzama granted an interview to this medium and gave the example of Ibrahim Mustapha, the Young man that was jailed for 10yrs using fake papers claiming to be a qualified Medical Doctor.

Gadzama said he thoroughly investigated the case that sent Ibrahim Mustapha behind the bars in Yola & now in Kaduna Prison about losing his eye sight. He is more of a gifted child whose excellent intelligent quotient (IQ) made him to have performed over 1000 successful operations without being to medical school.

He said Ibrahim is a wonder and a focused government will not throw out such a talented Young person but will encourage such a person to get it right by going to school to formally acquire a certificate that can allow him to practice better.

He however said Ibrahim, being a married Man with three children has committed a criminal offense by posing as a qualified Doctor using faked medical results to that effect he has violated the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

But according to him for a secondary school graduate to rise to the rank of the head of the Surgery Department in Yola Specialist Hospital & was Principal Medical Officer in Mayo Belwa & Fufore LG areas that should inform anyone with a developmental mind that such a person should not be allowed to waste & rot in the prison.

Steven appealed to Governor Ahmadu to grant him amnesty with a scholarship that can make him go to school, come back to add value to the government, and serve humanity as he use to be, also a call to the State House of Assembly to create a law that will see that such gifted persons are given opportunities & access affordable education as many of such are not from influencial homes.

“In developed countries like the US, they can’t send such a one behind the bars. He will be considered as a special citizen, or the highest they can do is to give him all the needed opportunity to explore many of his potentials in the medical fields to serve better.

” It should be known to everyone that Mustapha is a gifted child if you can follow up the story of how he became a fake doctor but yet with high certainty of a more qualified one who has never a failed an operation.

“I was reliably gathered that he has never failed all the promotion exams that made him a senior staff of Adamawa State Health Management Board, to the extent he rose to the rank of Head of the Surgery Department.

“Though in the eyes of the law he is indeed a lawbreaker by claiming what he is not and forging what he does not have. But let the government look at him with the eyes of humanity and the value-added change in the young man and grant him Amnesty. If happened elsewhere, people like him would not be allowed to waste their gifted abilities in jail. Humanity needs such peoole, and they are to be encouraged to do it better for the sake of humanity.” Steven said

He continued to say that Ibrahim is a gifted person with no history of medical training nor criminality, but performed over 1000 operations including major ones with no single record of deaths.

While calling on the State Government to grant him amnesty after spending almost three years in jail & about losing his sight. He said in some countries Mustapha will be celebrated, and will even be given a scholarship to formally train.

“It is unfortunate in Nigeria that we destroy the good ones, especially such talents like Ibrahim.” He added,
