The leadership of Rev. Ayuba Job Bagat at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) is reshaping the spiritual landscape of the congregation, earning widespread praise from respected elders and members. Under Bagat’s visionary guidance, ECWA has experienced remarkable growth, with attendance surging by over 40% in the past year and innovative outreach programs impacting thousands in underserved communities. Despite this revival, detractors have attempted to undermine his ministry, only to be rebuffed by church leaders who proclaim, “God is by His servant’s side.”

Installed as ECWA President two years ago, Rev. Bagat has implemented a dynamic transformation agenda focused on holistic discipleship, community engagement, and digital evangelism. Church records indicate a 25% increase in youth participation in Bible study and prayer sessions, while improved financial stewardship has enabled the completion of a long-delayed projects.

“Rev. Bagat’s leadership is a breath of fresh air; he’s not just preaching the Word but living it, making ECWA a beacon of hope,” said Rev. Sunday Congo, a veteran elder with over 20 years of service in ECWA.

Bitrus Garba, a longtime member and former local church official, noted how Bagat’s strategic reforms resolved administrative challenges. “Rev. Bagat, with his focus on accountability, we’ve cleared debts and launched scholarships to underprivileged children. God’s anointing on him is clear,” Garba shared with TGNEWS’ reporter. Ruth Dogara, a dedicated volunteer, emphasized the pastoral renewal. “Under his leadership, our women’s fellowship has grown with reasonable membership, with empowerment workshops on family and faith. Rev. Bagat’s humility and wisdom transform lives daily,” she said.

Even former skeptics now support Bagat. Saleh Dogara admitted initial doubts but now praises Bagat’s inclusive approach. “I saw distractions—rumors and opposition from those trying to derail him—but they’ve failed. His focus on scriptural integrity has united us, and our youth choir’s national performances reflect this revival,” he said.

Simon Adams, an elder and missions coordinator, reported a 30% increase in missionary deployments. “We’ve reached three new regions this year. Bagat’s leadership builds on ECWA’s foundation, not tearing it down,” he affirmed.

These endorsements come amid whispers of dissent from some members, who, driven by personal agendas, have spread discord via social media and Court cases questioning Bagat’s decisions on church expansions particularly in Kano State.

Elders dismiss these efforts as futile. Rev. Sunday Congo declared, “Those opposing the church are wasting their efforts because God stands with His servant. Psalm 105:15 warns, ‘Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.’ Their schemes have collapsed, and attendance has soared. This is divine protection.” Bitrus Garba added, “Proverbs 6:16-19 calls sowing discord an abomination. These detractors expose themselves, while Rev. Bagat’s ministry thrives.”

Bagat’s leadership aligns with biblical models of faithful continuity. Elders cite 2 Timothy 2:2, where Paul instructs, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

They see Bagat’s reforms as honoring ECWA’s legacy, much like Moses passing the mantle to Joshua in Deuteronomy 31:7-8, where God promises, “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you.” Saleh Dogara noted, “This alignment ensures ECWA’s strength, avoiding the divisions Paul rebukes in 1 Corinthians 3:3-4.”

Unity isn’t optional; it’s the glue of the body of Christ

Unity is central to Bagat’s success, a theme elders call biblically essential. “Unity isn’t optional; it’s the glue of the body of Christ,” said Ruth Dogara, citing Ephesians 4:3: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Simon Adams referenced Psalm 133:1, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” He noted that Bagat have resolved minor conflicts, fostering a family-like atmosphere. “Healings and baptisms have increased because, as Jesus prayed in John 17:21, ‘that all of them may be one,’” he explained.

Elders also urge the congregation to pray for leaders, citing 1 Timothy 2:1-2: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority.” Rev. Congo added, “Praying for Rev. Bagat is obedience. Hebrews 13:17 says, ‘Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls.’ Our prayers shield him, proving God’s favor triumphs over opposition.”

As ECWA looks forward, Bagat’s leadership promises continued revival. With elders like Congo, Garba, the Dogaras, and Adams standing firm, the message is clear: transformation under God-ordained leadership is unstoppable. In a divided world, ECWA’s story inspires believers to embrace unity, prayer, and faithful stewardship.
