A Pillar of Strength: Dr. Duhu Hails VP Shettima as APC’s Strategic Asset, Unifying Force

In a strongly worded public statement released today, legal scholar and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Umar D. Duhu, has described Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, as “an indispensable strategic asset and unifying force” whose tireless efforts have significantly boosted the ruling party’s visibility, influence, and cohesion ahead of future electoral battles.

Describing Senator Shettima as “a pillar of strength” for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, Dr. Duhu praised the Vice President’s “unyielding commitment, visionary leadership, and exceptional dedication” since assuming office in May 2023.

“After a comprehensive review of his tenure, it is evident that His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, has demonstrated a profound sense of duty and strategic inclusiveness that has become the cornerstone of this administration’s successes,” Dr. Duhu stated.

The statement highlighted the Vice President’s extensive domestic and international engagements, noting that his outreach has been “instrumental in garnering support for government policies and substantially enhancing the APC’s presence across all levels of governance.”

Dr. Duhu, a holder of LLM and PhD degrees, particularly commended Senator Shettima’s ability to connect with a broad segment of the electorate, especially in Northern Nigeria, describing him as “a distinguished nationalist and proud son of the North-East who brings immense political sagacity to the table.”

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections and beyond, the APC chieftain asserted that Vice President Shettima’s continued active involvement remains “pivotal and determinative” to the party’s fortunes.

“His leadership will be crucial in countering opposition challenges, maintaining the APC’s relevance, and ensuring the party’s position as the pre-eminent political force in Nigeria,” Dr. Duhu wrote, adding that Senator Shettima’s participation beyond 2027 would “buttress the APC’s resilience, adaptability and competitive edge in the evolving political landscape.”

The statement concluded with a formal affirmation of Senator Shettima’s “meritorious service, declaring him “a vital component of the APC’s strategic framework” whose contributions have already shaped the party’s growth trajectory and will continue to advance Nigeria’s democratic governance and political stability.

The glowing tribute from Dr. Duhu, a respected voice within the APC, is seen by political observers as further solidify Vice President Shettima’s stature as one of the ruling party’s most influential figures as the Tinubu administration approaches the midpoint of its first term.
