PRESS RELEASE
Our attention has been drawn to a Press Release issued by Barr. AT Shehu, the usurper Adamawa State PDP Chairman, stating that Muktari Hamidu (AkA Dogo), is not the state party youth leader and that the position has been vacant since 2019.
2. We want to state categorically that this is a false statement issued to beguile gullible members of the public. In truth Dogo was formally, albeit illegally, installed as the State PDP Youth Ldr by the so-called AT Shehu-led State PDP executive committee. It is now that Dogo, one of the unlawful imposters which Dr. Ardo and rPDP have been calling attention to, has been blemished by illicit drug-related crime, the so-called PDP state chairman is now coming out to ostensibly distance the party from him. But thank God, by doing so, Barr. Shehu has also unwittingly exposed the illegality they have subjected the state party members to since 2017. The press release holds them culpable of violating section 47(6) of the party constitution for 2 years that stipulates replacement where vacancy occurs.
3. The truth of the matter, however, is that just like the state youth leader, all chairmen of wards, members of the Local Government working committees, state and zonal offices, are all being similarly illegally held. It only needs to get them also caught with tons of illicit drugs for the party to issue other press releases claiming that the offices are vacant.
4. In fact, the press release only exposed AT Shehu as lying to the public. To this lie, we draw his attention to the list of Adamawa State Delegates who participated in the just concluded NE Zonal Congress in Bauchi. The position of state youth leader was not declared vacant but was filled in by Dogo. Then how dire Barr. Shehu lie publicly because Dogo is caught with tons of Indian hemp?
5. AT Shehu should know that party business is public business, and public business is serious business; not a business of deceit, cheat and lies! In any decent society, AT Shehu ought to have stepped aside or removed outright from his illegal office on the basis of this lie alone. But because we are the way we are, anything goes.
6. The truth of the matter is that not only is there presently no legally constituted PDP excos in Adamawa state beyond the ward level, but even those now holding in default are unworthy as there is no truth in their mouths, thereby defaming the party and bringing its image to disrepute and contempt in breach of section 58(1)(b) of the PDP constitution. Thanks to “the Dogo escapade”, the truth of the so-called Adamawa PDP Exco is slowly but surely and loudly coming out.
